Annual Prize of the Leibniz-Kolleg Potsdam for Excellent Publications

(Call for award applications that have to be submitted electronically until the 17th of February, 2024)

The Leibniz-Kolleg Potsdam invites applications for its annual publication award to be given to young researchers with the aim of promoting developing scientists in mathematics and the natural sciences at the University of Potsdam.

All current or former doctoral students of the Science Faculty at the University of Potsdam who achieved significant scientific results during their stays in Potsdam are eligible to apply for the prize (available prize money: 2,500 euros). The applicant's doctorate should have been completed no more than two years before the award-application deadline. Childcare periods may be taken into account to extend the deadline requirements accordingly. The outstanding quality of the original research must be demonstrated with papers published in peer-reviewed journals (manuscripts that have already been accepted for publication may also be submitted). The award may be shared between applicants upon the recommendation of the jury.

Application deadline and further requirements: All eligible young scientists/scholars may apply to the chairperson of Leibniz-Kolleg Potsdam until 17 February 2024. The following documents are required and should be submitted in electronic form to leibniz@uni-potsdam.de

(1) the relevant publication(s),
(2) a curriculum vitae in tabular form,
(3) a complete list of the applicant's publications,
(4) an easy-to-understand summary of the relevant scientific achievements – highlighting contributions to the current state of knowledge in the respective area of science (1 page (A4) in German or English), as well as
(5) a letter of support from a university teacher.

Presentation of the award: The prize winner(s) will be selected by a jury (recourse to legal action is excluded). The prize is to be awarded at the 25th Leibniz-Kolleg Potsdam on 16 May 2024. The prize money is to be used to promote science and education. Only the German original of this Call is the official version.
